The Museum of American Art of New Britain became the venue for the exhibition "
For America: paintings from the National Academy of Design"organized by the American Federation of Arts and the National Academy of Design. This exhibition of 100 paintings by 78 artists tells the story of the National Academy from the 19th to the 21st century.
The exhibition includes the works of some of the most recognizable artists in American art: Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Maxfield Parrish, William Merritt Chase, Andrew Wyeth, Thomas Ikins, Robert Henry, Ernest Blumenschain, Isabelle Bishop, Richard Esteser Pieter, Wayne and many others.
