Exhibition "Caravaggio Bernini. Baroque in Rome"explores the beginning of European Baroque in Rome, using the works of the artist Caravaggio (1571-1610) and the sculptor Bernini (1598-1680).
The exhibition returns us to Rome around 1600, when the eternal city was awakened from its dreams by brilliant and ambitious artists. Aesthetic beauty has long been the norm, but now a new artistic language has appeared, the ultimate goal of which was to evoke emotions. It was an art of amazing change of roles, drama, dynamism and bravura, as well as the art of classical restraint and natural zeal. The effect of this Roman revolution in Western art was reflected throughout Europe.
