Young Rembrandt - Rising Star

Exhibition November 2, 2019 − February 9, 2020
City Museum Lakenhal presents the exhibition "Young Rembrandt - Rising Star".

For the first time, a retrospective is devoted exclusively to the earliest works of Rembrandt Harmenszoon Van Rijn (1606-1669). The audience, as it were, looks over the shoulders of the young artist and sees how his talent has blossomed. The works that the world-famous master has now done on Leiden land return to his hometown after almost 400 years.

The exposition includes about 40 paintings, 70 etchings and 10 drawings. The exhibition was created in collaboration with the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, one of the most important museums in the UK.
