Cobr

Exhibition November 7, 2019 − April 12, 2020
As a result of cultural exchange, the Cobra Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico brought a group of artistsCobrto Mexico. Among the participants there are great representatives of abstract art, such as Karel Appel, Pierre Alechinsky, Constant, Cornel and Asger Jorn and others. The exhibition also features works from collections of contemporary art museums in Tamayo, Mexico, as well as from private collections.

CoBrA is an acronym for Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam - the hometowns of the artists of the founders of this movement. They are characterized by semi-abstract canvases with bright colors, distorted human figures, inspired by primitive and folk art. In artistic experiments and comparisons, COBRA art sought to erase the boundary between creativity and life.
