In the space of time. Alexey Sukhovetsky

Exhibition December 14, 2019 − February 16, 2020
Vyatka Art Museum named after V.M. I am. Vasnetsov presents a solo exhibition of works by the national artist of the Russian Federation, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Aleksey Nikolaevich Sukhovetsky“In the space of time”.

The exhibition features more than 100 works (paintings, preparatory cardboards, drawings).

The exhibition reflects the work of one of the leading contemporary Russian artists Aleksei Nikolaevich Sukhovetsky and presents paintings and graphic works of recent years, performed in various genres of fine art: landscape, still life, interior, thematic painting.
The main theme of the work of Alexei Sukhovetsky was Moscow. His childhood passed in the Zamoskvorechye area, which until the end of the 1990s retained the spirit of old Moscow. With no less enthusiasm, Alexei Sukhovetsky writes still lifes, interiors, portraits. Each of the elements of the picture space depicted by the artist will be warmed by his attention. Not an object in its indifferent seriality, but a thing filled with everyday experience finds its “voice”, and only a spectator immersed in contemplation can hear its quiet music. The color, form, tectonics of compositions, the solution of specific artistic problems - everything in Sukhovetsky’s work is focused on the goals of a deep and meaningful generalization, fueled by a living feeling and therefore generating images that are capacious, multifaceted and open to the living perception of the viewer.
