Lera Nibiru. Kromhel's Journey to the Seventh Heaven

Exhibition December 30, 2019 − January 27, 2020
The State Russian Museum in the halls of the Marble Palace presents a project by Lera Nibiru“The journey of Kromhel to the seventh heaven”.

Visitors will be able to get acquainted with the work of the artist, creating conceptual works in which she combines graphics, photography and objects, and works in the genre of animation.

Lera Nibiru graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television with a degree in animation (2003). She is one of the organizers of the OpenDefence festival dedicated to young authors in the field of fashion and has twice been nominated for the Kandinsky Prize (2008, 2010). The story of Cromhel, the many-eyed wandering comet invented by the artist, describes his birth and passage through seven layers of mythical reality. To understand who he is and what his purpose is, Kromhel makes his way from a deep cleft, a symbol of darkness, to the seventh heaven - a metaphor for light. “Kromhel's Journey to the Seventh Heaven” resembles an ancient cosmogonic myth and continues the tradition of experimental animation.
