The exposition is dedicated to the study of monuments of Byzantine art and shows photographs by N.I. Brunov 1924, depicting Sophia of Constantinople, the ancient buildings of Mystra, Trebizond and other masterpieces of Byzantine architecture. These photographs recorded in detail the state of architectural monuments for that period. In addition, the exposition will be supplemented with photographs of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries with views of Byzantine architectural monuments. In total, more than a hundred photographs will be shown.
The works of Nikolai Brunov make it possible to see the masterpieces of Byzantine architecture through the eyes of two Russian art historians who lived about a hundred years ago, and put Nikolai Brunov on a par with the famous photographers of Constantinople - Istanbul.
