Jacob Lawrence: American Wrestling

Exhibition "Jacob Lawrence: American Wrestling"- the first museum exhibition of the series of paintings" The Struggle: From the History of the American People "(1954–56), created by the most famous black American artist of the 20th century Jacob Lawrence (1917–2000). Lawrence’s thirty intimate panels created in the modern era of civil rights they interpret the key moments of the American revolution and the first decades of the republic’s existence between 1770 and 1817 and, as he wrote, “depict the struggle of the people for the creation of a nation and their attempts to build democracy.”
