One aspect of the exhibition "Master Mondsee"is the order of the altar by Abbot Benedict Ekk of Wilsbiburg, depicted as a donor in one of the paintings along with the coat of arms of Mondsee.
It was under Benedict that the Mondsee Abbey church was rebuilt in the Gothic style. As a comparison with other works shows, Master Mondsee was carried away by the work of Pacher and other art sources in Salzburg and the Bavarian region, while maintaining an individual approach. That is what makes his work so error-free.
