Yuri Annenkov. Revolution behind the door

Museum of Russian Impressionism holds a large-scale exhibition of Yuri Annenkov“The revolution behind the door”.

The exposition includes over 150 paintings, graphic portraits and sketches for productions from leading museums and private collections in Russia and France. For the first time, works from the Pompidou Center in Paris, created by the master in exile and not previously exhibited in Russia, are shown.

Yuri Annenkov is an avant-garde player who knew everything. The author of the portraits of Gorky and Akhmatova and the illustrator Moidodyra, a director of mass action for 8,000 people and an Oscar nominee for costume design. For the first time, the work of one of the most expensive Russian artists will be presented in such a volume. His work is characterized by a combination of avant-garde techniques with elements of realism.
