Winter 1954-55
Pablo Picasso(1881-1973) fulfilled a long-standing desire: he drew an answer to the famous image of Eugene Delacroix "Women of Algeria".
For three months, Picasso created a series of fifteen oil paintings, which were accompanied by a good hundred drawings and lithographs. However, this series of images was saved as a closed ensemble. Today the Berggruen Museum is the only public museum in Europe that displays a painting from this series.
