Albrecht Altdorfer(1480-1538) - a great artist, designer and engraver of the Renaissance of Germany. However, he remains less known than other masters of his generation, Albrecht Dürer, Lucas Cranach or Hans Baldung Green.
The exhibition, organized in close collaboration with the Albertina Museum in Vienna, is designed to present for the first time to the French public all the richness and diversity of its paintings, paintings and engravings.
An artist close to humanistic circles, Altdorfer is very original, endowed with enormous opportunities for formal and iconographic inventions and is well aware of the artistic work of his German and Italian contemporaries.
