Petrit Halilay. The first solo exhibition in Britain

The Tate Modern Gallery holds the first in the UKpersonal exhibition of the artist, sculptor, installer Petrit Khalilay.

Visitors will be able to see a series of works by a Kosovo author, including the famous large-scale installation “You understand that a rainbow exists, even if it is night!”.

Petrit Halilay graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. In many of his installations and sculptures, Khalilai explores his personal history and creates works that symbolize the personal space taken from him by the war in his youth. The author combines real and imaginary, political and folklore, works in various fields of fine art, including sculpture, drawing, graphics and modern technology.

Khalilaya’s work explores the relationship between cultural identity and heritage, as well as personal and collective memory, the author often uses animals as metaphors for transformation, including gigantic performative moth sculptures and installations of “bird-like creatures”.
