Museum d'Orsay organizes an exhibitionChaim Soutine / Willem de Kooning.
The exhibition will unite the unique universes of these two artists, presenting more than fifty works devoted to the main topics: tension between figured and shapeless, painting “flesh”, visual practice and “gestures” of two artists.
The exhibition will be devoted to the study of the influence of painting by Chaim Soutine on the pictorial vision of the great American artist Kooning. Body painting and the explicit “impressiono” of Soutine's paintings made critics declare him a “prophet,” a messenger of American abstract expressionism. It was then that Willem de Kooning began the painting “Woman” - a picture in which special expressionism is built, balancing between fiction and abstraction.
