Katarina Grosse. It was not us

Exhibition June 14, 2020 − January 10, 2021
Museum Association State Museums of Berlin in the halls of the Hamburg Station and the Museum of Modernity presents a personal exhibition“Katarina Grosse. It was not us. ”.

The exhibition, recognized as the main artistic event of the year in Germany, is the work of the German artist Katarina Grosse, rightfully called "Katarina the Great".

Katarina Grosse's painting is an explosion directed outward, a powerful expression of colors, turning into a gigantic three-dimensional canvas the entire exhibition space and even reality beyond it. This is not the first time the author has worked with large formats. It uses ceilings and walls, objects made of wood and fabric, natural landscapes and houses destroyed by a hurricane as a canvas. Not only a visitor to the museum, but also a casual passerby will not be able to pass by without stepping into this frozen riot of colors, will not be able to resist the desire to unravel in their interweaving some secret universal sign.

Katarina Grosse: "This is the goal of my work - to intervene in something that already exists before me and change it in such a way that its inherent laws, which seem unshakable, seem to cease to exist."
