From Piet Mondrian to De Stijl

Exhibition June 1 − December 30, 2020
The Hague Municipal Museum hosts an exhibition"From Piet Mondrian to De Stiyl".

The exposition presents not only the works of the founders of the group "De Stijl" Theo van Doesburg and Piet Mondrian, but also the works of Vilmos Husar, Bart van der Leck, J.J.P. Oud and Gerrit Rietveld.

Visitors to the exhibition will learn all about Piet Mondrian's unique journey from abstraction to the innovative discoveries of De Stijl. Where many people think that De Stijl was a community of very serious and “cold” artists (as if the art was created using a ruler on a drawing board) - in The Hague, viewers will find that the opposite is true. Using vibrant colors of red, yellow and blue, the authors created works of art that were vibrant, free and cheerful, and looked very positively towards the future.
