Exhibition October 23, 2020 − February 21, 2021
The Barbera Institute of Fine Arts hosts an exhibition"The Art of Devotion: Sacred Illustrations, Prints and Drawings".

The exhibition features breathtaking illustrations on parchment, woodcuts and gravure prints, covering the rich artistic heritage of Italy, the Netherlands and Germany.

Throughout the Middle Ages and early modern times, deciphering the mysteries of the Bible and the Gospels was an attractive and lucrative business for European artists and philanthropists. The demand for religious material required talent and innovation from artists - to create new and diverse art in a changing artistic landscape.
