Farnsworth Art Museum invites you to visit the exhibition
Andrew Wyeth: Maine Heritage.
The exposition occupies two galleries of the museum and introduces the paintings of Wyeth, who devoted about 70 years to the state of Maine: architecture, landscapes, atmospheric genre subjects and weather scenes made in gouache, tempera and watercolors. The artist has received numerous awards and honorary degrees, and every year on July 12, Wyeth Day is celebrated in honor of the talented author's significant contribution to the artistic and cultural heritage.
Andrew Wyeth not only surprisingly accurately captured and conveyed the atmosphere of Maine in his work, he became synonymous with state identity. The exhibition was part of the 200th anniversary celebration of Farnsworth and statehood.
