Inside you in your absence. On the nature of the body and corporeality in art

Exhibition December 9, 2020 − January 24, 2021
Vyatka Art Museum. V.M. and A.M. Vasnetsov holds an exhibition “Inside you in your absence. On the nature of the body and corporeality in art ".

The exposition includes more than 50 works of original and printed graphics, demonstrating the work of famous European artists of the 17th – 20th centuries. The exhibition features works from the court painters of Louis XIV to German actionists.

The starting point for the formation of the concept of the exhibition “Inside You in Your Absence” was the story of the modern Russian writer Tatyana Zamirovskaya, whose narrative conflict is built around reflections on the natural and dramatic intersections in the world of two principles - “human” and “inhuman” natural. The research exhibition draws viewers to the most important issues-challenges facing humanity today: what is a person, what are the limits of body and corporeality, what is the ratio of "human" and "natural", which separates us from nature and makes it possible to merge with it, feeling new a state of unity. By comparing the answers of artists who professed different worldviews, torn apart in space and time, the exhibition creates conditions for an actual and deep dialogue.
