The exhibition presents the works of Alla Urban of different years: nine objects and installations created from 2014 to 2020, as well as two videos. The exposition, following the architecture of the hall, is divided into two conditional levels: the upper one, “black and white,” which presents works made of paper and corrugated cardboard, and a new installation, “Wave,” formed by white threads wrapped in steel rods, and the lower one, “colored ", Built on the collision of monumental works of various configurations of copper, steel, aluminum. The figurativeness of the project comes to light gradually, as in the manifestation of photography, emerging with its contours, consistently introducing into our consciousness the drama of the installation, its scenic meanings.
Alla Urban is an artist, author of objects and installations, photographic and video projects. The exhibition at the Tretyakov Gallery is the first large personal project of Alla Urban. She continues the tradition of monographic exhibitions, presenting the transformation of such a classical art form as sculpture in the contemporary art space.
