Rubens. The power of transformation

Exhibition October 17, 2017 − January 21, 2018
For this show, the curators lent about seventy exhibits from the world's leading collections, such as the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the Prado Museum in Madrid and the National Gallery of Art in Washington. Put together, they give an idea of the creative process of Peter Paul Rubens, about how he created his bright, carefully thought-out works.

The exhibition "The Power of Transformation" focuses on the most fascinating aspect of Rubens's career - his critical analysis and the use of external sources and ideas. With the help of the selected works, the exhibition illustrates how Rubens was inspired by other artists - both contemporaries and masters of the Renaissance - and how he conducted a creative dialogue with the ancient and Renaissance sculpture.
