MAM Photo Collectors Club - 20 years

Exhibition October 13, 2020 − August 1, 2021
Museum of Contemporary Art São Paulo (MAM) hosts an exhibition "MAM Photo Collectors Club - 20 Years".

The extensive exhibition brought together the works of 107 artists who have added to the museum's collection over 20 years, as well as the works of hundreds of amateurs who have been members of the Club over the past two decades.

Collecting art is an opportunity to look at human diversity from a fascinating perspective. It is about presenting perspective perspectives that deflect the obvious and make us think deeply about the most diverse aspects of life in society. Consequently, museums and their collections are democratic spaces that foster reflection, the coexistence of differences, discussions without dogma, and the formation of a repertoire. The Photo Collectors Club of the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art was established in 2000. This exhibition is a tribute to those collectors who lead the art cycle, encourage artists and reaffirm the importance of the social role of cultural institutions such as MAM.
