National Gallery, Prague hosts an exhibition
"Restless draftsman: landscapes by Antonin Slavichek".
The exhibition acquaints visitors with the work of the leading Czech impressionist painter of the early 20th century, the author of his own original style of painting.
Drawings by Antonin Slavicek (1870 - 1910) represent the lesser-known position of his predominantly pictorial work. His drawings are "impressions of fleeting moods" captured by him during his wanderings in nature. In his sketches for paintings and quick sketches from Prague, as well as from Vysočina and Dalmatia, he strove to comprehend the landscape more and more expressively.
