Blues and the City
Exhibition March 21 − April 30, 2021
The first Moscow exhibition of the artist since the beginning of the pandemic will take place in the private gallery “Prima-gallery”. The exhibition "Blues in the City" will collect both old and new paintings from the cycles of city landscapes familiar to fans of Denis Oktyabr:
Cycle "Outside the window". Each painting depicts the same view outside the window of the artist's studio. But the viewer is taken by surprise. It's incredible how diverse even the most ordinary view from the window can be when painted by Denis Oktyabr. Each picture captures all the new and new unique state of the surrounding world.
Cycles "Jazz" and "Old Town". The author's paintings are filled with improvisation and freedom, they convey the amazing atmosphere of New York in the 20s. Viewers can feel the "courage" of the jazz and blues clubs of those years and even feel the music, which is filled with pictures.
The exhibition will also feature the artist's still lifes from the cycle "Flowers in the Window", as well as several works from the cycle "In the Altai Mountains", as if shading the main theme of the exhibition.
The opening will take place on March 21 at 17.00. All visitors are requested to bring masks and gloves with them.
