Bags - Inside Out

The Victoria and Albert Museum hosts an exhibition "Bags - Inside Out".

The exhibition focuses on unique accessories and explores people's long-standing fascination with these items - from designer bags to messenger boxes, from toiletries to hiking backpacks and military tablets. Visitors will see an embroidered bag to protect the Great Seal of England by Elizabeth I and a box for Winston Churchill's letters, get acquainted with the process of making unique products - from design, sketches and prototypes to the creation of a finished product.

The halls of the museum display over 300 items, ranging in size from tiny wallets at your fingertips to sumptuous travel chests. The exhibition explores the function, status and craftsmanship of these highly coveted objects from the 16th century to the present day, demonstrating the evolution of the everyday thing over several centuries.
