April 13 - online exhibition "Second Wind" in VR-gallery "Wednesday"
April 13 at 19:00 Moscow time in the virtual gallery of the Faculty of Contemporary Art of the online school "Learning environment" will pass online excursion on the virtual personal exhibition "Second Wind" by the contemporary artist Konstantin Baidakov, a participant in the self-organization "22" and a graduate of the workshop of the famous Russian artist Arseny Zhilyaev.
Konstantin Baidakov's exhibition offers the viewer a rather unusual existential experience. The exposition is based on technical items related to the exposition machinery: fragments of an electrical network - sockets, cable channels, covers of installation boxes. These things that are far from art in the space of the exhibition become art objects, gaining a new life or "second wind".
But the demonstration of the exhibition infrastructure is only the first, most general layer of work. Each object of the exposition has its own, rather personal story. So, two slightly convex circles, located under the ceiling at a distance of several meters from each other, are called "Suffocation". The artist describes the history of their discovery as follows: “These two objects were located between the entrance and my workshop, between the public space and the place where it is customary to create the sublime. I regularly walked by on my business, but never paid attention to them. Once, quickly going up to the sixth floor, stopping, I saw them. At this moment, feeling a fit of suffocation. " Or another object of exposure is a socket. According to legend, she was found in the hospital, where Baidakov spent months in childhood with asthma.
Perhaps the most unusual feature of the exhibition is that all the items on display are only virtual avatars. The exhibition space is an interactive abandoned beach, where the viewer will have to examine art objects, sunbathe under two suns, listen to interviews with participants and look into the distance.
Artist Konstantin Baydakov - participant of Russian and international exhibitions, since 2010 a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Graduated from the art workshop of Arseny Zhilyaeva (2020). It is a member of the independent self-organization of artists "22". Works in various formats - such as sculpture, installation, performance, video. In his practice, he focuses on issues related to the collision of personal and social. Was born in 1980 in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk region.
