Painting on ceramics. Flora, fauna and mythical creatures
Exhibition April 25 − October 3, 2021
Museum Association Berlin State Museums and Köpenick Castle hold an exhibition “Painting on ceramics. Flora, fauna and mythical creatures ".
The exposition presents more than 80 exhibits from the collection of the museum and private collections: in the works of the masters, painting and ceramics form a single symbiosis, demonstrating a whole microcosm of flowers, herbs, fruits, insects and amphibians.
Almost all of the ceramics presented are unique. The focus of design is not on functionality, but on free artistic expression. Teapots are transformed into small sculptures on pedestals, vases into sculptures, and plates into wall-mounted objects. In addition, there are numerous cross-links between the ceramics of the separate exhibition and the constantly displayed historical exhibits.
