British Museum hosts an exhibition
Reflections: Contemporary Art from the Middle East and North Africa.
The exhibition features over 100 works by contemporary authors that highlight the themes of gender, identity, history and politics, as well as explore poetic traditions and intersections between the past and the present.
With works by artists trained in everything from Paris to Jerusalem, and on topics ranging from the Syrian uprisings to the burning of the National Library of Baghdad, the British Museum offers a new perspective on societies whose problems are well known in the press, but modern culture is little known in European society. ... And this view is possible, including through the prism of contemporary art.
