European masterpieces from the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Queensland Art Gallery (QAGOMA) invites you to visit the exhibition "European Masterpieces from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The unique exhibition offers a fascinating journey from the 1420s and the nascent Renaissance to the peak of Post-Impressionism of the early twentieth century. The exhibition allows visitors to get up close and personal with works by artists such as Rembrandt, Rubens, Turner, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne and Monet, straight from The Met, one of the finest collections of European painting in the world, most of which rarely leave the permanent display in New York.

"European Masterpieces" covers 500 years of painting history and includes portraits, still lifes, landscapes and drawings that are sure to appeal to viewers of all ages, art lovers and anyone interested in history, society, beauty, religious iconography, mythology and symbolism.
