Reality and fiction

Queensland Art Gallery (QAGOMA) holds an exhibition "Reality and Fiction.

The exhibition focuses on artists' responses to social changes in Asia since the 1980s and the emergence of realism as the defining artistic strategy of the period.

The exhibition includes movements as diverse as the New Wave in Japan, Indian figurative and narrative art, and the politically charged New Art movement in Indonesia. Many well-known works from the Gallery's collection are on display, along with pieces from several private collections closed to the public.
