"Blood and Milk To Go. Ekaterina Alimova and Artem Maksimov

Exhibition June 25 − July 25, 2021
DiDi Gallery holds an exhibition "Blood and Milk To Go. Ekaterina Alimova and Artem Maksimov".

The authors of the project suggest looking at the exhibition hall as a mythical space that combines the incongruous. A space where wireless internet came but where Domostroy hasn't left yet. When creating the works, K. Alimova and A. Maksimov predominantly refer to red, white and black colors. Each of them is supported by associative markers of Russian culture. Red - blood, the color of traditional ornamentation, "beautiful". White - salt, purity, holiness. Black - earth, oil, sturgeon caviar. Through this technique, the exposition is read by the viewer unconsciously, awakening in him the knowledge embedded in the mental level.

The idea of literary centrality of Russian culture occupies an important place in the representation of the exhibited works. Certain quotations from works created by Russian writers over the last century are chosen for each object. In the works of Katerina and Artem there are direct references to literary images from the works of Victor Pelevin, A. Vvedensky, S. Dovlatov and other famous Russian authors.
