Masterpieces of naive art in Russia

All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art holds an exhibition "Masterpieces of Naive Art of Russia".

The exhibition is timed to coincide with the transfer to the museum collection of the Polenov State Russian House of Folk Art. In the halls of the museum an anthology of naive art of Russia of the XX century is presented. The pearl of the exhibition are picturesque canvases by Ivan Selivanov, a wise man of the people ("My Homeland is My Home", "Neighbor Feeding the Chickens", "Portrait of a Wife", "In the Field", "Self-Portrait"). Paintings "Virgin Mary," "Isadora Duncan," and "Artist's Happy Day" by Katya Medvedeva, whom Marc Chagall called "the great Russian primitive.

The exhibition also features paintings, graphics, and decorative works by famous artists who are included in the list of the most valuable representatives of Russian naive art: Vasily Dmitriev, V. A. Kulikov, Alexei Pichugin, Zinaida Babina, Yuri Belov, Irina Galustova, Yevfimiya Varfolomeeva, Stefania Bazylenko, Vasily Romanenkov, Khrestinia Chuprakova, Serafima Brizhan, Nikolai Pendin, and Nikolai Zykov.
