Children of the avant-garde

All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art holds an exhibition "Children of the Avant-garde."the exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the State Academy of Art Sciences (SAAS).

The exhibition consists of two sections: historical and contemporary. The historical section presents a collection of children's drawings of the 1920s from the collection of the artist, researcher and teacher A.V. Bakushinsky, which in 1931 he gave to the Central House of Art Education of the Narkompros of the RSFSR, the successor of which is the Institute of Art Education and Cultural Studies of the Russian Academy of Education. The collection of drawings refers us to the ideas of art education in the first decades of the twentieth century, to the perception of the avant-garde era through the work of children of those years. The current section of the exhibition presents the creative projects of modern schools and studios, reflecting pedagogical practices based on artistic discoveries of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries.

The exhibition "Children of the avant-garde" is a kind of dialogue through the century of children and teachers of the 1920s and 2020s, ideas and approaches in the field of artistic development of personality on the material of the Russian avant-garde and world art of the XX century.
