Shintaro Ohata. The place where it all begins

Exhibition June 4 − September 26, 2021
Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art holds an exhibition of Japanese artist Shintaro Ohata "The place where it all begins.".

Visitors will see 24 amazing three-dimensional paintings created by the artist over the past 10 years.

Shintaro Ohata's works go beyond the canvas: the Hiroshima-based artist is famous for his man-made live paintings in which he combines traditional 3D and 2D objects. By combining plastic sculptures with a painterly canvas, the author engages the viewer in a visual game built on the synthesis of arts. Cinematography in the works of Shintaro Ohata is largely achieved through the light. The artist reliably conveys any light that surrounds a person in everyday life, be it the rays of the rising and setting sun or the lights of the big city. Expressive accents of light emphasize the drama that is invariably present in everyday life.
