Summer Collection

Exhibition July 6 − September 26, 2021
Moscow Museum of Modern Art invites you to visit the exhibition "Summer Collection".

The thematic composition is dedicated to new acquisitions and gifts. For the exhibition selected works of fourteen Russian artists of different generations, which came to the funds over the past few years. First of all, these are large-scale installations such as "Live Corner" by Vladislav Efimov, "Kanat" by Taus Makhacheva or "Ringtone" by Anna Rotayenko, and author series, including "Mechanical Drawing" by Igor Shelkovsky and "Dance" by Sergey Sapozhnikov.

Created between the end of the 2000s and the year 2020 - which is now perceived from a historical distance - all the works were first shown as part of various exhibitions not only in Moscow (including solo exhibitions held at MMOMA), but also in Venice, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladivostok, and other cities. And now, having become a part of the museum collection, they are "inhabiting" an unfamiliar space in the building on Petrovka. Each of the projects is "reconstructed" in a dialogue with the author, being freely placed in a separate room - its own exposition comfort zone - according to the monographic principle.
