Alexander Nevskiy in the visual art. To the 800th anniversary of the birth of the prince

Exhibition June 7 − October 31, 2021
ROSIZO presents a large exhibition project "Alexander Nevsky in Fine Art. To the 800th anniversary of the birth of the prince".

The exhibition features works from the golden holdings of ROSIZO, the Union of Artists of Russia, the Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, the Yaroslavl Art Museum, other museums and private collections.

The exhibition is divided into three sections. The first presents icons and historical paintings, which depict Alexander Nevsky as a saint or holy warrior, the great prince, who instilled faith in people during the difficult years of trials, including during the First and Second World Wars. The next section of the exhibition is multimedia. Outstanding works, devoted to the life and deeds of the great prince, were created not only in the fine arts, but also in music and film. The third section of the exhibition presents works of masters, studying the heroic pages of Russian history, as well as the life and exploits of the Grand Duke Alexander Nevsky. Icons created by Marina Gracheva and Irina Vinnichenko continue the best traditions of ancient Russian art. Artist Dmitry Zavra on his canvas "Take care of this land" shows the pure soul of the prince as a child, who for the first time opens the beauty of native nature. At the same time, in Sergei Marchenko's painting "Truth Behind Us!" we see the hero, dragging the warriors behind him to meet the danger. As a symbolic defender of the Russian land Yuri Pantyukhin portrays the prince. The landscapes "Evening Light", "The Sun Again" and others by the outstanding artist Peter Ossovsky, showing the harsh beauty of the Pskov region, deserve special attention.
