Linda Benglis

National Gallery of Art, Washington holds exhibition Linda Benglis.

Featuring 33 sculptures, paintings, drawings, prints and videos, most of which were donated to the National Gallery by Dorothy and Herbert Vogel, the exhibit showcases the pioneering work of an author who has influenced generations of artists.

In the late 1960s, American artist Linda Benglis (b. 1941) expanded the coordinates of canvas, wall and floor surfaces through her bold, physical and tactile works. Throughout her vibrant experimental artistic career, she broke new ground through her endless exploration of different techniques, materials and mediums.
