PICTURES PAINTED IN NIZHNY NOVGOROD

Exhibition 16 − October 24, 2021
All the works presented at the exhibition were painted in Nizhny Novgorod in the period from 27 August to 25 September 2021. The project continues the tradition of creative journeys of the "SOCIETY OF LOVERS OF PICTURE AND DRAWING" created by Alexander Florensky together with Ivan Sotnikov in 2004. During this time the artist tried to explore Nizhny Novgorod, and visited such settlements as Balakhna, Gorodets, Gorokhovets, Diveevo, Arzamas, Oranki, Frolishchi, Makarievo, Vorsma, Pavlovo, Bolshoye Boldino, Murom, Bolshoye Murashkino, Gorbatov, Katunki and Purekh. In addition to working on the submitted pictorial series, Alexander Florensky was collecting materials for his future book "A Journey to Nizhny Novgorod and its environs", a kind of an author's guidebook. Several first drawings for this book can also be seen at the exhibition.

Alexander Florensky's project "Paintings Painted in Nizhny Novgorod" opens on October 16 (Saturday) at 19.00. To visit the vernissage you must comply with the conditions published in the decree of the governor "About the introduction of the high alert regime". That means you must bring your vaccination certificate, recent PCR test results or multipass with you. Minors are not subject to the requirement.

The exhibition will be open in Gallery 9B from October 16 to 24 every day from 12 to 6 p.m., except Monday.
