Rossetti's portraits

Exhibition September 24, 2021 − January 9, 2022
The Holburne Museum in Bath is holding an exhibition of portraits by Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828-1882).

The exhibition is dedicated to one of the giants of Victorian art and for the first time focuses on the portrait art of Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

Visitors will see such iconic works of art as Blue Arbor (1865) and Blue Silk Dress (Jane Morris) (1868), which show the artist at the height of his creative powers, along with lesser-known but equally compelling drawings that convey the state of his inner world as well as his surroundings. Among the exhibits is a rich and thoughtful portrait of William Holman Hunttaken on the morning of April 12, 1853, in the studio John Everett Millaiswhen members of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood gathered to paint each other.

Prepared according to the materials of the website Holburne Museum.
