The Tree of Life, Boris Oshkukov

Wood as a material manifested itself originally and stylishly in relief collages, which Boris Oshkukov began to experiment with in 2011. This was preceded by a long preparation, which included the study of new sensations from the material, research and training in new working methods and tools. Experimenting with different forms and additional materials, the artist came to an interesting solution, which he subsequently applied practically in all his relief panels - the method of "modular collage" as an echo of his past experience with mosaics in his work. This method made it possible to organically combine three-dimensional parts from different materials on the plane and create, at the same time, convincing images.
