Hyperrealism. It's not the body

Exhibition September 7, 2022 − January 8, 2023
The Maillot Museum is preparing to host its most popular traveling exhibition "Hyperrealism. It's not the body.".

The exhibit will bring together more than 40 sculptures by the world's leading artists, including: George Segal, Ron Mueck, Maurizio Cattelan, Berlinde de Bruckere, Duane Hanson, Carol A. Fairman, John DeAndrea, and others.

The exhibition will feature a series of sculptures that shake our understanding of art. Reality, art or copy? The hyperrealist artist turns away from abstraction and strives to achieve a meticulous depiction of nature to the point where viewers sometimes wonder if they are dealing with a living body. Thus, these works evoke a sense of strangeness but are always meaningful. The subtitle of the exhibition refers to René Magritte's famous work "This Is Not a Pipe," which questions the relationship between art and reality.
