Vienna 1900. Klimt, Moser, Gerstl, Kokoschka

The Leopold Museum owns an unprecedented collection of masterpieces, created about 1900. This year, the Agency starts with the presentation of selected works by the main representatives of art Nouveau Gustav Klimt and Koloman Moser, as well as expressionist innovators of Richard Gerstl and Oskar Kokoschka.

The exhibition"Vienna 1900. Klimt, Moser, Gerstl, Kokoschka» you can see a large painting by Gustav Klimt, such as "Death and Life" and landscape "On lake Attersee" as well as "Venus in the grotto" Kolo Moser. In the exposition, and outstanding examples of design, decor and posters that you created last "thousand talents" and co-founder of Wiener werkstätte. Home after successful exhibitions in Frankfurt and new York back the radical work of the proto-expressionist Richard Gerstle. The Leopold Museum contains the most complete collection of works Gerstle. Among the paintings of the last – two icons of Viennese modernism and its large-scale self-portraits.

Oskar Kokoschka, "an enfant terrible" of the Viennese art scene of the early XX century, also the focus of this exhibition. His innovative "self-Portrait with a hand in the face" – at the same time the expression of introspection and doubts of the artist and a symbol of Austrian art, entering into a new era.
