The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum presents for the first time in Spain
a retrospective of the American artist Alex Katz (born New York, 1927).
The exhibit includes about 40 large-format oil paintings accompanied by various sketches offering an overview of all the artist's usual themes: individual, double and group portraits along with his distinctive colors and sweeping landscapes, with recognizable authorial bright colors and flat backgrounds.
Alex Katz (born New York, 1927) was a key figure in the history of twentieth-century American art and a precursor of Pop Art, an artist who is still active today.
