Kyiv gallery NUDE ART presents an exhibition of the founder of the Lviv school of painting of the Oleksa novakivs'kyi (1871 − 1935) "The artist is eccentric. Oleksa Nowakowski and his school". The exhibition includes works from private collections.
Oleksa Nowakowski — a bright phenomenon in the art of the first third of the twentieth century. In his work merged Odessa and Krakow art school, which later was embodied in the Lviv modernism. Style Novakovsky impossible to classify any one direction; it works — academism, art Nouveau, expressionism. At the end of life, the artist has developed his own unique style based on a combination of textures, colors and reflecting his philosophical reflections. Each artwork is materialized experience.
Nowakowski was closely associated with the culture of the early twentieth century, his work became an organic part of Ukrainian history, an expression of the national mentality and at the same time a part of world culture. The painter works in the Ukrainian museums represented in small numbers — with the exception of the museums of the city. The more interesting current exhibition in Kiev.
