Art Brut - Outsider Art, [05/29/18 10:48]
Art Brut (Art Brut) - a term introduced by Dubuffet in 1945 to define the works that he collected, and later applied to the Art Brut Collection in Lausanne. Art Brut is considered as visual art in its purest form - a spontaneous psychic splash from the depths of mind and consciousness, captured on paper or embodied in the material.

In category "Art Brut" works that are, of course, original and unique in their content and graphic form are included; their creators should not consider themselves as artists and even be aware that they "produce art". Three "of": the inventiveness and isolation of the imaging give rise to the light of creation, gleaned "exclusively from internal reserves, and not from the stamps of classical or fashionable art"
Term "Outsider art"Originally intended to serve as the English equivalent of Art Brut, it was subsequently applied to a wider range of works, including in addition to Art Brut some works of the category "New fiction" (we will deal with it later). For the working definition of the Art of Outsiders, there is a lower categorical requirements for the selected works, a greater focus on the changes that have occurred over the past half century in a socio-cultural environment. It extends to creative works - painting, graphics, sculpture, installations and various designs made by people who have not received training in the arts and create (or, at least, started to create) works of art regardless of recognition from the artistic world, market value and definitions. Outsider artists are people who create for themselves or their inner circle, and, as a rule, are not aware of themselves as artists until collectors or experts approve them of the idea that the works they create belong to art.
