Jim Dine. From the Pompidou Center collection

Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow presents an exhibition «Jim Dine. From the Pompidou Center collection»dedicated to the work of an outstanding American artist, a classic of world contemporary art.

Jim Dine was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1935. At the age of 23, having moved to New York, he began to try himself in art as an artist. Soon, Dine won public acclaim for his environmental and happences, created in collaboration with Klas Oldenburg in the Judson Gallery.

The works included in the exposition of the Multimedia Art Museum, were donated by the artist National Center for Art and Culture Georges Pompidouwhere from February to April of this year his retrospective passed with great success. Jim Dine personally selected twenty-eight works for the French Museum, created between 1961 and 2016. Thanks to such a generous gift of the artist, the Center Pompidou has now become the owner of the largest collection of painting and sculpture of Dine.

The first in Russia retrospective of Jim Dine is unique in its completeness and allows you to get a comprehensive picture of the more than fifty-year career of the famous artist.
