Nikolay
Karlovich Grandkovsky

(11.2.1864, Saratov — 5.5. 1907, Penza), painter. Studied at MUZHVZ (1880). Received in 1885 and 1886 small, 1888 large silver medal and the title of a classic artist. Up to 1897 he lived in Moscow, later in Penza. Participated in exhibitions MUZHVZ, mulch, etc. the society Works: "Portrait of the writer N. N. Nicholas Gradkowski, was educated in Moscow (the Moscow school of painting from 1880), the city of Saratov. At various times he was sent to Saratov more than a dozen of his works.

At the invitation of K. A. Savitsky, head of the art school, Nicholas Gradkowski among other Moscow artists (K. A. Klodt, P. I. Korovin, N. To.Zhukov) came to Penza. Nikolai Karlovich taught at PHU (from 1897 to 1907) and the Penza theological Seminary.
