People's artist of the RSFSR (1969). Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Graduated from Perm art school (1938), VGIK (1943). Worked in creative collaboration with artist M. A. Bogdanov. 1943 — teacher fighting positions, since 1976 — Professor. The author of theoretical works.

1972 Member of the Communist party.

In 1938 he graduated from the Perm art College, in 1943 the art Department of VGIK. Works in colored film.

With artist M. A. Bogdanov participated in the creation of films: the Stone flower (1946), "Michurin" (1949), "Brave men" (1950), "Przewalski" (1952), "Heroes of SHIPKA" (1955, together with the Bulgarian artist G. Popov), "Communist" (1958), "Journey beyond three seas" (1958, in collaboration with Indian artist Achrekar), "Cossacks" (1961), "hussar ballad" (1962), "War and peace" (1-4-I series, 1966-67). Was a painter movie "Flowers overdue" (1970), "the Messengers of eternity" (1971), "Engineer Pronchatov" (1972), "an affair of the heart" (1974). From 1943 he teaches at VGIK (1960 associate Professor).
