Workshop Basilio was in the Batignolles quarter. Nearby Manet set up a shop. The center of attraction for artists was famous, a favorite of impressionist cafe "Herba". But to call them began later, in the years of the future Impressionists was called batignolle.

Before us is an ordinary Parisian attic. View over the rooftops from the window, the room is heated furnace, it's probably winter. You should pay close attention to characters. Random people here. On the left climbs the stairs to Emile Zola. Pausing, he talks with sitting down Renoir. Later Zola would write a novel "Creativity", and most artists will quarrel with him, knowing his traits in the character of the work, artist, loser Claude Lanthier. But while the characters are clearly engaged in conversation, and he is still friendly. The center attracts the attention of a tall figure with palette in hand - next to a picture is the Basil. And in front of the artist himself put of Edouard Manet, whom he regarded as his teacher, and Claude Monet – a close friend (Monet in the hat).
