Bright and expressive work will make the viewer think. The name "Gladiator" came to my mind right after finishing work. A small piece of history is laid out on canvas. The impasto technique, sometimes cutting thick layers of oil paint with a palette knife, gives the work a special charm and style. Many of my paintings, especially figurative ones, I begin to "sculpt" with my hands, like sculptures, only then I use a brush or palette knife. This gives a special energy to the piece. The author's energy is very important, the picture lives and gives its energy to others who behold it.
